“Janet Paterson, president of ONIWG, explained the WSIB uses ‘deeming’ to reduce the amount the injured worker receives for their weekly loss of earnings benefit, by claiming they are deemed fit to work a job usually based on 40 hours weekly and at least minimum wage. However, Paterson said many injured workers have no job and are incapable of working in accordance with their treating physicians.”
